Recap – Employee Health and Fitness Day May 13 

More than 125 employees braved cold weather and strong wind to walk for employee health and wellness on May 13. Healthstyles hosted 1-mile walks at the Macomb County Circuit Court in downtown Mount Clemens, Nicholson Nature Center, Southeast Health Center and Southwest Health Center to kick off the start of Spring into Action.

In addition, staff and residents at the Juvenile Justice Center (JJC) participated together for an hour of physical activity, with all activities coordinated by a team of residents at the JJC. All participating employees received bottled water and healthy snacks. Employees participating at the courthouse were led through an enthusiastic warm up by Maria Marino, fitness instructor and owner of Maria Marino’s Fitness. 

Look for another Employee Health and Fitness Day to kick of the start of Harvest Healthier Habits this September.

2015 Exercise and Walking Club Calendars

Exercise and Walking Club calendars are available. Simply fill in your physical activity each month and send your completed calendar to Healthstyles. Each quarter, participants are entered into drawings for gift cards. The entire year of calendars are found on the Healthstyles home page.  

Save the Date – August 5, 2015 Healthstyles Employee Health Fair

This year, Healthstyles is bringing the Employee Health Fair closer to most work campuses. We are partnering with the Macomb Community College Emergency Training facility on Dunham – right next to the VerKulien building – to hold our annual health fair. Screenings, healthy food samples, giveaways and the chance to talk with more than 25 local health and wellness vendors will once again be available. All employees are eligible and encouraged to attend the health fair!
