New Inside Macomb launched yesterday for employees
In our continuing effort to improve Macomb County’s communication channels, the IT Department today launched an updated Intranet site called Inside Macomb to replace the old Macomb Today.
“Our goal is to provide employees with a central location where we all can quickly access the information and forms that make our jobs easier,” said Sandy Jurek, chief information officer. “The design of the new site focuses on a simple navigation structure that helps you find and access that information faster.”
Inside Macomb will be the default page for almost all county computers, making it the first page users see when they open their Web browsers. If Inside Macomb is not your browser’s default window, you can access it by typing insidemacomb.macombgov.org in your browser’s location window.
Built on the same platform as the county’s public website, familiar editing tools will empower assigned content management teams across the county to provide the most current updates.
Some of the new features include:
- Immediate access to Tech Support information for contact via phone or e-mail
- One-click access to all internal forms and policies
- A calendar page including both general and department-specific events
- Maps and directions to various county locations
- Access to internal news and events
“An intranet is built for employees and is intended as a communication tool that can be used to share and access information from county departments to help with operations,” said Jurek. “We look forward to working with everyone in order to make this site a one-stop-shop for all our county employees.”
