Vanguard Education opportunities
I am pleased to announce several Vangard educational opportunities for the County's 457 Deferred Compensation Plan. We are offering three different educational opportunities based your stage of career and how close you are to retirement. First is "The Time is Now to Save More" for those employees that are early in their career; second is "Financial Freedom: Strategies for Reducing Debt and Saving More" for those employees that are mid career; and finally, "Getting on Track for Retirement" for those employees that are within 5 years of retirement.
The schedule is as follows:
June 2 - "The Time is Now to Save More" geared to early career employees will be presented at 9 a.m. and 10:30 am on the second floor of the Talmer Building at 120 North Main Street. This presentation will also be made at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the Health Department auditorium.
June 3 - "Financial Freedom: Strategies for Reducing Debt and Saving More" geared to mid career employees will be presented at 9 a.m. and 10:30 am at the Health Department auditorium. This presentation will also be made at 1:30 pm and 3 p.m. on the second floor of the Talmer Building at 120 North Main Street.
June 4 - "Getting on Track for Retirement" geared to employees that are within five years of retirement will be presented at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Health Department auditorium. This presentation will also be made at 1:30 pm and 3 p.m. on the second floor of the Talmer Building at 120 North Main Street.
These sessions all will be approximately 45-50 minutes which will allow for some question and answer time before the next presentation time.
There is no registration required, please be sure that your attendance is cleared with your supervisor.
Annual Leave Time conversion option
Human Resources and Labor Relations is pleased to announce that the option to convert Annual Leave time to cash will be available in 2015 on a voluntary basis. This option will be available to employees (including DROP participants) who have an Annual Leave bank balance of 120 hours or more on July 31, 2015. Eligible employees will be able to convert up to 40 hours of Annual Leave time to cash by completing the attached form and submitting it to Human Resources and Labor Relations by July 31, 2015.
Human Resources and Labor Relations will confirm eligibility and process the request for payment to be made the last pay in September 2015. Approved payments will be added to your regular paycheck and subject to all normal deductions.
This option is available to full-time nonunion employees and all employees represented by a labor agreement that contains this provision.
